Sony Ericsson concept phone

I love covering concept phones that may not have substance to them (tech-backing), but nevertheless are fun to read about. Featured here is a concept Sony Ericsson FH Mobile Phone that has a pivotal point to it. It flips vertical on a pivot to mimic a phone and rotates sideways to become a viewing screen for the media functions and web browsing. The phone even becomes an intercom of sorts when split into two, allowing easy communication between the two parties holding each end. What a high-tech walkie-talkie this would make!

Cyglo LED Bike Tires

If you want to ride your bike at night, you may want to consider these cool Cyglo LED bike tires? The Cyglo Bike Tires($TBA) have LEDs embedded in the rubber, and will glow in a circle of light around your tire as the wheels turn, making you safe and also making your bike look cool! The Cyglo LED bike tires by a UK inventor James Tristram, is powered by the spinning of the wheel itself, there is no need extra batteries to keep them working. There is no details about its price, but they are certain to be pricey.
Turn your iPod Touch into an iPhone

Yosion has introduced a device called the Apple Peel 520. You just slide your iPod Touch into the new Apple Peel adapter, your iPod Touch will turn into a working cellphone. This adapter looks like a iPod touch case, which has a SIM card slot and a dock connector is found on the bottom, powered by an Infineon baseband chip, it not only offers voice calling and text messaging, and also doubles up as an 800mAh battery and provides 4.5 hours of call time or 120 hours of standby juice

Disposable Printers
excuse me for blowing my own trumpet but I KNEW this was gonna happen, honest!
The Instant Cartridge Printer is an awesome idea modeled on the lines of how disposable cameras are dispensed. The plan is to buy a cartridge printer off the shelf, according to the paper size you plan on using. Related info like print speed, print resolution and color is provided on the packaging itself. The designers try and bring in an eco-angle by using recyclable paper for the milk-box packaging and recyclable parts. However the printer is powered by an internal battery & hooks to the device and comp via USB.
Although the concept is pretty neat I doubt it would be practical for people like me who go through printer cartridges faster than ballpen refills!
The NEW Shape Of All Cigarette Packs?
well not exactly, but if Eric Askin gets his way it very well might be!
Governing bodies have tried many different ways to discourage smoking including dramatically increasing the price of cigarettes through taxes, by forcing tobacco companies to include graphic and disturbing imagery and warnings on the packaging to even requiring them to be hidden away behind closed doors at stores. And while this brilliant redesign of cigarette packaging isn’t the end all solution to the problem, it’s another step that will hopefully discourage more people from smoking.
The flip-top cigarette box is actually incredibly well designed when it comes to portability, accessibility and even marketing. So Eric Askin figured that by breaking the rules of design it could actually discourage people from using a harmful product, and that’s what led to the creation of his diamond-shaped packaging concept. It fits terribly in a pocket, the cigarettes are harder to access or share, less of them can be stacked on a shelf and when they are, the branding is obscured, they’re more difficult to ship and they’re more expensive for tobacco companies to make and manufacture. Of course the new packaging would have to be mandated the same way the current warning labels are, but I think it’s a brilliantly simple way to make the terrible habit even more of an inconvenience.

The Sunday Refix: Random Impulse X Kano – P’s & Q’s
Week 4 in my series of refix’s and this time I brought it back to the mother land: GRIME! and classic grime at that! As always I played Guitar as the leading melody, but I just couldnt help adding the odd little synth stab here and there just to keep true to the genre. I also added hi-hats that wernt originally there in the song.
Lirically… If im honest… I just wanted to go all out and let my flow loose! After working on such conceptually strong songs for my album its nice to let loose every now and then 🙂
Till next week folks!
