The 100GB Blu-Ray Disc
the folks over at TDK have announced that it’ll be offering triple-layer discs that offer up to 100GB of capacity. Granted, you’ll need BDXL-compatible readers and drivers, but that’s the way technology works. These discs are slated to ship in Japan come September, with quad-layer 128GB discs in the horizon too.
Guy Rob A Bank Dressed As Darth Vader
Robbing a bank might not be the most original crime in the world. Robbing a bank while dressed as the most ruthless villain in the universe, on the other hand, definitely takes a little extra thought. According to Newsday, such a feat is exactly what one “man” recently pulled off at a Chase bank in Long Island. After strolling into the bank at around 11:30 a.m., Anakin pulled out a handgun, demanded cash, and, as is usually the case, Vader got what he demanded. Witnesses have described the Sithian stealer as six feet, two inches tall, and say he was wearing camo pants and a blue cape — in an attempt, apparently, to, um, disguise his disguise. Police say he was last seen heading off toward Valley Stream, but, by this point, it’s all but certain that he’s fled to a galaxy far, far away
Sony’s Ray Modeler 3D
The RayModeler 3D display you’re seeing in this video is a prototype of the kind of device sci-fi storytellers have been dreaming up for years. LED light sources allow you to see an image from all angles, 360 degrees. Objects like faces and people appear realistic giving viewers a sense of depth because the left and right eyes are seeing different images. This prototype will be showcased at SIGGRAPH 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center July 25-29.
The Personal Submarine

So you think you’ve got it made in life, eh? Well, instead of chasing after yet another exotic car to add to your collection, why not sink a cool $2 million into this Personal Submarine? (HOW much???) After all, the thrill of driving through town with your supercar’s top down gets old fast, so why not bring your chick aboard this spacecraft-looking two-person underwater vessel the next time you really want to impress someone? It is capable of submerging to depths of up to 1,000 feet, powered by a couple of 3-horsepower vertical/translational thruster that runs off electric batteries. Steering it involves a central joystick which allows precise positioning underwater, accompanied by a VHF radio for you to communicate with the surface while a GPS instrument ensures you won’t get lost.
iPhone Game Graphics Just Got Better
Graphic candy!

Zen Bound 2 carries the same premise as the original Zen Bound: wrap up floating, rotating figurines with a rope. With the gyroscope involved everything feels slightly silkier and roping those damn totems now feels even more natural (not like I know what that really feels like). And the improved graphics are noticeable thanks to the Retina Display.
have a look at it in action in the vid!
doesnt this dude have like the most EPIC voice?? i though i was at the cinema when watching this!
Guy Makes Daft Punk Helmet From Scratch
The New Windows Logos
So what do you do when the entire planet switches from mainly using your products to your fruit-themed competitor? Simple, you make changes. The kind of changes that give a new found sense of reliability, quality and class….either that or change the logos!
yup thats right, windows main products have been given logo makeovers! theres the windows logo:

I know, hardly the mind blowing change you were hoping for eh?
The ‘Tree’ Toaster
The Toaster Tree….it’s got fancy transparent leaves that hold your bread, till they are done. Transparent nano-electric membrane technology is what the designer cites in support of the crisping/browning element; I simply adore the thought of a leaf-pattern singed to my toast. Please someone remove the kinks and flaws (in design and tech) to make me a happy Toaster Tree!

Nerds Unite and make a hot chicks calender of their own!

Jon Gibson, just a simple nerd with a simple dream: to make a nude calender that appeal to his fellow nerdy nerds. Starting in 2008 he created totally nerdcore.com and 2 years on it became one of the biggest memorabila-sellers in this years vid-con with they’re super hero theme!
upon the sucess gibson said:
“Well, we’re nerds here at Nerdcore – superheroes are our lifeblood. That’s the easy answer.
But, you know, it’s also about defying expectations. Everyone seemed to think that we were just going to another pinup-style calendar with more retro 80’s videogames. Hell, where’s the challenge in that? Nerdcore was founded on a principle of never doing things that are TOO easy. That said, the 2008 calendar was really, REALLY FUCKING difficult to produce.

We nearly set a garage on fire, almost buried two production assistants under a pile of very heavy drywall, and found ourselves running away from sketchy vagrants in the abandoned train yards in downtown L.A. Aside from that – yeah, it was a breeze. There was also several incidents of ordering far too much stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut. You can only eat so much of that shit.
