the $100 USB powered blue-ray drive

The new PX-B120U is a USB-powered BD-ROM drive, which not only plays back Blu-ray flicks but also burns DVDs and CDs of the blank variety. The standout feature, of course, is the ability to function entirely off of USB power, with no extra AC cabling needed. Furthermore, the device can be converted into a living room player when connected to the forthcoming PlexMedia, and while I wouldn’t expect a wealth of extras, the $99.99 MSRP is shockingly tempting.

TRON Light Cycle For Sale

The Parker Brothers Choppers in Florida are selling off three working Lightcycle replicas like the ones in the upcoming movie TRON Legacy. If you’ve been dreaming of having your own Lightcycle ever since the first TRON and have the cash for it, better act quickly since there are only three of these babies left.

Each bike will set you back around €27,900 ($35,000) and each unit is custom-built and unique. Even the color is one-of-a-kind since they won’t make a bike the same color as ones already sold. To top it off, these are real, working motorcycles and not just something to sit on and pose for a photo-op.

I doubt buyers will be using these for their daily grocery run but the maker says they are built for street use. Each bike features hubless wheels, neon accents, a fiberglass body and either an electric or gas motor. Check out the link below for more info.

Get your very own satellite in orbit for only $8000

It might not exactly be pocket change, but fr what you get, you’re hardly breaking the bank either. You can now get you’re very own satellight in orbit for a meer $8000!

At $8,000, you can get a DIY satellite and sent into orbit, check out the TubeSat Personal Satellite Kit. Interorbital Systems (IOS) says it can deploy 32 tiny satellites simultaneously from a rocket launched from the Pacific island of Tonga. The price, yes, only $8,000.
“Planet Earth has entered the age of the Personal Satellite with the introduction of Interorbital’s TubeSat Personal Satellite (PS) Kit. The new IOS TubeSat PS Kit is the low-cost alternative to the CubeSat. It has three-quarters of the mass (0.75-kg or 1.65-lb) and volume of a CubeSat, but still offers plenty of room for most experiments or applications. And, best of all, the price of the TubeSat kit actually includes the price of a launch into Low-Earth-Orbit on an IOS NEPTUNE 30 launch vehicle. Since the TubeSats are placed into self-decaying orbits 310 kilometers (192 miles) above the Earth’s surface, they do not contribute to the long-term build-up of orbital debris. After operating for a few months (the exact length of time on orbit is dependent on solar activity), they will safely re-enter the atmosphere and burn-up. TubeSats are designed to be orbit-friendly. Launches are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2011.
A TubeSat is designed to function as a Basic Satellite Bus or as a simple stand-alone satellite. Each TubeSat kit includes the satellite’s structural components, printed circuit board (PCB) Gerber Files, electronic components, solar cells, batteries, transceiver, antennas, microcomputer, and the required programming tools. With these components alone, the builder can construct a satellite that puts out enough power to be picked up on the ground by a hand-held amateur radio receiver. Simple applications include broadcasting a repeating message from orbit or programming the satellite to function as a private orbital amateur radio relay station. These are just two examples. The TubeSat also allows the builder to add his or her own experiment or function to the basic TubeSat Kit. ”

THE WEEKLY REFIX: Tinie Tempah’s ‘Frisky’

Remaking this song was really interesting as there are so many little touches that together make the beat whole. there wasn’t much space for me to play guitar this time, but there’s quite a lot of singing which got me nervous enough! (singing isn’t for me as you can tell.)

i know this is quite short, but there was ALOT to do on this one and i had a deadline to meet for you guys!

DONT FORGET TO SUSCRIBE & catch a new refix EVERY SUNDAY where I remake an Instrumental from SCRATCH and lay down an exclusive freestyle

3D porn!!

It’s done. Game on, broheim, because 3D is here to stay. The first 3D porn full feature film made for modern stereoscopic TVs—those that use shutter eyeglasses—has arrived. It’s called Kama-Sutra, and even Woody Allen will like it.

That’s what Allen said at the last Cannes Film Festival: “[I like 3D movies because] three-dimensional women look a lot better. I don’t see it in my movies, but for Playboy it will be perfect.” Legendary european porn producer Mark Dorcel agrees. That’s why he made the first 3D porn film to prove it. Called Kama-sutra, it stars Brigitte Lahaie. Dorcel thinks that not all porn will be 3D, however. Some people will like it, others will prefer good old 2D. Being a fan of 8mm porn from the 60s, I agree.

The new movie is more Avatar than Alice in Wonderland. It doesn’t include women painted in blue—thankfully-but it uses actual 3D cameras and not 2D-to-3D post-processing—thankfully.

Batteries that charge by shaking them!

We’ve seen kinetic chargers in the past before, but what about a battery that can be recharge itself via vibrations? That’s what the folks over at Brother Industries Ltd. did, with the objective to reduce toxic waste created by discarding batteries. These batteries are capable of generating power whenever the user shakes the remote control, flashlight, or whatever device the batteries are placed in, and are available in AA or AAA sizes. Hopefully they’ll be able to be recharged via the normal methods too; after all, we don’t want to be shaking a pair of batteries for long periods of time just to switch the channel…
