Recipe: Japanese Fried Chicken W/Panko Breadcrumbs And Tomato & Basil Bruschetta

Yet another recipe that I didnt know was gonna happen until I was stuffing my face with it.  I went to sainsburys to stock up on some s&b japanese curry cubes  (Im obsessed with Japanese food and culture just incase you havent noticed)  and while there I picked up some panko bread crumbs. panko breadcrumbs are these weird, slightly bigger breadcrumbs that are formed by electrocuting bread. (I wish I made that up but its true. Japan, go figure) These bread crumbs soak up a lot less oil so they’re awesome for deep frying.

Anyway, on with the recipe, I suck at all this backstory shit lol.

first: three bowls: in one mix some flour, black pepper, and all purpose seasoning. Second: one whisked egg & third: Panko breadcrumbs.

Then grab some chopped chicken breast coat it in the flour, then give it 10 mins to let it soak in. Next dip your chicken pieces into the egg mixture an then press it firmly into the panko breadcrumbs. Make sure your coat all of it thoroughly.

wait 15 minutes, then throw those badboys in oil, make sure its not raging hot otherwise it’ll burn before the chicken cooks propperly and then “fry until golden brown”

the brushetta was kind of a ‘I dont have any carbs so lemmie make something up’ situation.

slice of thickly crusty bread, brushed with olive oil and in the oven for 10 mins, bit of tomato sauce, roule cheese, spread and top with chopped basil.

boom! mission complete!
