The iTable

This giant 58-inch multi-touch iPhone table is designed to be a 58-inch working iPhone. The 58-inch multi-touch surface accepts iPhone 4 connections via a 30-pin Dock Connector, and with a bit of magic, the table becomes your iPhone. To make the desk work, you need to connect a regular jailbroken iPhone, and then the giant multi-touch surface acts like a huge remote display.
The desk in the pictures is just a mockup, but the people from Table Connect say they will reveal the actual working version on Tuesday. The Table Connect will be an actual product you can buy. No word on the price tag.

Rise Of The Giant Dragonflys!

You know what there’s not nearly enough of, on this fine planet of ours? Dangerous animals that could wipe us all out in one fell swoop. I guess that’s why these sadistic scientists bred extra-large dragonflies, then?

The scientists raised atmospheric oxygen levels to above 30 per cent, which is closer to how the Paleozoic era’s environment would’ve been, supposedly. Once the air was right for breeding, Dr John Vanden Brooks and his team then successfully managed to breed dragonflies with wingspans of roughly 70cm.

Oversized cockroach breeding was also attempted by Dr Vanden Brooks, but thankfully he failed. I don’t have to remind you how resilient cockroaches already are, but cockroaches on steroids? Someone give me access to their bomb shelter, and fast!

The pick punch!

Now this is a DAMN good idea! My fellow guitarists know what im talking about…

If you’re not overly picky about the material you strum your guitar with, you now have the option of turning pretty much anything into a guitar pick. The Pick Punch is a hole punch, sure. A whole punch that wails.

You can chop credit cards, gift cards, or really any kind of thin plastic into picks of 351 or Fender varieties. You can also buy ready-made sheets from the Pick Punch site, but that kind of takes the fun out of it, don’t you think? Mostly, I’m just relieved knowing what the future holds for my stack of used up Whole Foods gift cards. A piece of mind that’s well worth the $25.

Gibsons Robot Guitar: The Dusk Tiger

i just came in my pants…

You’re forgiven for thinking Dusk Tiger looks like your average Les Paul. It’s certainly similar enough, but as Wired points out:

The top is flat, not contoured, and the mahogany back of the marblewood body covers a chambered interior which reduces weight and tweaks tonality… The regular pickups also differ from the Les Paul standard setup. The neck pickup is a hum-canceling single-coil model (P-90h), and the bridge pickup is a Burst Bucker 3, a slightly over-wound humbucker.
You want more? Okay! How about Robot Tuners that can switch between tunings on the fly and tune your guitar for you 500 times on a single charge.

Throw in an internal pre-amp and parametric EQ, FireWire output, Ableton Live Lite 8 software included, and a master control knob that turns your axe into a LED light show. The only thing left for you to do is strum… and scrape together $4,150 to buy one of these.

The Watch That Gets You High?

Just when a Tokyoflash watch has reached the pinnacle of unreadability, it looks like the company has scaled things back slightly — very, very, very slightly. Kisai’s Wasted watch makes “your senses [come] alive” by turning the time display into a sort of psychedelic light show, one that it would take a modern day Timothy Leary to decode. It’s apparently supposed to simulate some sort of hallucinatory state, although we’re guessing that it’s much more likely to give you a migraine. Rechargeable via USB, and available now for $85 plus shipping.

Capcom also has a contest on its Facebook page where you can win, among other things, Chibiterasu plush dolls.

The Worlds First 3D printed WORKING Car

What the hell… So a few weeks I posted the progression in the field of 3D printing the process in which a macbine can “print” solid three dimention objects, even with moving parts, but this is on a TOTALLY different level!

Hybrid cars usually feature snazzy, high-tech designs, but few can compare with the Urbee — the first car to be manufactured entirely by 3-D printing. Developed by Kor Ecologic and Stratasys, the Urbee was created with an additive manufacturing process, whereby engineers add layers of printed material until finally arriving with a finished product — in this case, a whole car. As Fast Company explains, the car’s entire exterior (including the glass) was created from 3-D prints, with the help of Stratasys’s Dimension 3-D printers and a Fortus 3-D Production System.

As you can see in the video demonstration after the break, the Urbee actually works, too. It gets a cool 200 mpg on the highway, and a not too shabby 100 mpg while driving in the city. Once you’re done cruising around, you can charge it with a standard electrical outlet, wind power or a solar panel array. No word yet on when the Urbee might make its market debut, but a full-scale prototype will be on display at this week’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, in case you want to check it out for yourself
