Making A Track For Lupe Fiasco’s New Album “Lasers”

Although I make all of the music for my own stuff, I very rarely make beats or produce tracks for other people, But while I was in Hollywood, my good friend Brian West from “Track & Field” (whos done work for Nelly Furtardo and K’naan to name a few) hit me up to produce some stuff for lupe’s fiascos new album with him and being a fairly smart man, i’m not saying no!

so then we started!

We were asked to deliver the music, along with the chorus, which after a Jack Daniel and lemonade mixer, I wrote and recorded down. I dont wanna give too much away, but due to the hook, there was no other option other then to call it “lasers.” Yeah, the TITLE track, pretty epic right?

Ive now been asked to write a verse too, so who knows, i might end up ON the shit with lupe! I’ll tell you guys know whats happening as soon as I do!

T.O.T.B.C In Rosevelt With Sam Ronson And Dj Yasmin??

ok so the infamous Dj Yasmin happens to also be in l.a and invited me to go to the Rosevelt and watch samantha ronson play. So i went, managed to wrangle my way on the guest list and enter, only to find that she wasnt there yet! i tried to stay aslong as i could but i had to hit another club called Le Reux up too. sigh, next time i must remember that women arrive fashionably late. bye Rosevelt

oh and for the record dj yasmin spins WAY better than sam!

Meeting The Creator of Heroes Tim Kring!

So Yesterday was a pretty fun day! almost as soon as i jumped off the plane i was dragged over to the guitar aficionado magazine and jaguar motors party.

I Was Totally SHATTERED, but thanks to a few cocktails named “the blast” and a few crazy-fresh-tuna-ice-cream-cone-type-things i was a ok!

Then i began doing my usual roaming and began talking with this one guy about music, children and bad guitar playing. He seemed pretty cool and after talking about my upcoming show in the viper rooms he seemed pretty egar to see me play live. I told him I could put him on the list and for his name. He gave a big sigh then said: “man, I only got 50 of these printed ever, take this.”

I watch heroes religiously…star struck much? fuck yes lol

The Super Duo: In The Studio With Ed Sheeran

As you may or may not know, when it comes to my music, im SUPER picky with who I collaborate with, its so bad infact that i can count on one hand the number of people that ive worked with on my guitar stuff and that includes engineers and producers too.

Enter Ed Sheeran, the 19 year old musical genius that does it ALL, singing, sonwriting,plays guitar, keys (a lil) and puts on one of the BEST one man shows I have ever seen. I reached out to him through the recommendation of Guy Chambers (who we’ve both been working with), sayng how much Id love to work and much to my surprise he was trying to get a hold of me for the same reason!

Although we couldnt be any more different, the simularites we share are crazy, its like where polar opposites of the same magnet lol.

when someone I click with this much comes along doing just one song isnt enough, and we’ve both agreed that a big batch of stuff is the only option. Its either that or the etire world collapses, or something of the same epic epicness.

Oh yeah!! he joined up to S.A.N.G.A (super awesome nerd genius army) too! and by joined i mean i added him and without him knowing :p

Anyway! Expect Awesome music on the way from the new super duo! watch this space!
